AJATUS

Ajatus (a thought) was designed for Finlayson. When designing it my main purpose was to find a way to express something that worries me , extinction of rare animal species and in general people’s negative effect on the nature. I wanted to express it in a delicate way and panda bears were the perfect messenger for my thoughts. Panda is a symbol of extinction and it is also in the logo of WWF world wildlife foudation. The idea was to think of what the panda might be thinking? To put oneself in the situation of a panda. This design is one of my most successful surface pattern designs, and has been sold since 2006. It is widely productized and licenced for in Asian markets, Japan, Korea and China.

Client: Finlayson | Launched: 2006, still sold around the world | Licenced to many japanese companies like Felissimo, Nishikawa, Sangyo, Maruai, Kamawanu, Wix etc.

AJATUS

Ajatus was part of my thesis when graduating as a master of arts. For the graduation exhibition I managed to make a co-operation with WWF, World Wildlife Foundation. And got this design to collect charity money for WWF during the exhibition time.
